Master Shi Yan Xiu
Fan Qiang otherwise known as Shi Yan Xiou (July 1983) - Practiced Shaolin Kung Fu since the age of 6. He joined the Shaolin Kungfu Group in 1995 and was accepted as a disciple of the head abbot of the Shaolin Temple, Xi Yong Xin thereby becoming an apprentice of 34 th generation of the Shaolin temple. Currently the Chief Instructor of Shaolin Kung Fu.
His specialities are Iron head, double hammer, hard Qi Gong, Drunken arts, Shaolin pressure points and Shaolin medicine.
He has participated in many domestic and international competitions.
In 1995 he won a Gold medal in the Shaolin fist in the Shaolin Temple Henan Kung Fu tournament. In 1996 he won the Henan Shaolin staff competition, and in 1997 he represented the Shaolin temple for performances in HK during the handover. In 1998, he participated in the cultural exchange program of warrior monks who performed in over 50 countries and regions including US, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Australia, UAE, Japan and HK etc.
In 1998 he performed in the Yokohama International Martial Arts festival in Japan. He has received many honours from Queen Elizabeth II, the former president of Singapore and attended private audiences with many leaders of State.
He has also been interviewed by UK’s BBC, America’s NBC, Canada’s CITY-BT, receiving the highest awards for spreading the Shaolin philosophy and martial arts contributing to cultural exchange with countries all over the world.
